Emme: The Walking Videos

Emeline turned a year old this week and got herself some shoes .....walking shoes. Here is some previously unreleased director's cut footage of her. And here...is...some...more.

Went camping and hiking up at Cannon Mountain last weekend. I was woefully unprepared to do either, so naturally it rained. And I forgot my tent poles. Here are some pics of me jury-rigging my tent with string and branches on Saturday evening.

Sept. 9, 2008
Emeline began crawling last month and already she is a little lint-gathering Roomba of curiosity, climbing stairs, opening drawers, etc. Here is some video. And some more. And more. And... Well...you...get...the...point.

We spent Memorial Day weekend with the family in Kansas and another week with them in Vermont. The result: A renewed bond between Sofia and her favorite uncle and an Emeline suddenly eager to walk and talk like her cousins. Here is some video of the aborted family photo and some photos from Vermont.

After nine months and one week of waiting, Emeline Marie arrived on Sunday, Nov. 25, at about 12:20 p.m. She weighed in at a svelte 7 lbs and 15 oz, and was 22-inches long. As you can see, her cuteness factor is nearly off the charts.

Erin's baby party yesterday was a good time. Lots of food, drink and friends, plus Dave's debut as quizmaster. Thanks to Kathleen for letting us use her groovy pad where I took these photos.

Seven days in Scotland meant seven days of rain, but it was beautiful when the sun was out. Here are some photos of our recent swing through Glasgow, Edinburgh and points north.

We put Bradbury to sleep yesterday, 14 years and 4 months after I picked him out of a litter of puppies in Sunrise Estates and drove him back to my little apartment in Columbia, Mo. These are all the photos I have of him. They don't do him justice.

Single-digit temps at the peak didn't stop us from hitting Killington hard last weekend. Actually, we probably spent more time lounging in our rental house than we spent on the mountain. Bradbury enjoyed the trip too.

Aug. 30, 2006
Erin and I closed out the summer with two weeks in Seattle, Vancouver and up at Whistler mountain, but all we have to show for it is a few crumby photos from a disposable camera.

June, 2006
It was a beautiful day over New Hampshire's Mt Monadnock recently as Erin and I joined a group of friends for an afternoon climb.

February, 2006
A shout out to Matt Healey for these award winning photos.

Congratulations to Fabio and Vivi, who threw an outstanding wedding and made me feel at home (literally) while I was in Brazil for the week. I hope I will get to see you later this year in the U.S.

Nov. 19, 2005
Erin and I just got back from a long weekend in Acapulco where she was a bridesmaid to her cousin Megan's wedding. It was an all-nighter and Uncle Jimmy spared no expense. I'll just say that the first few times I described it to the folks back home, I managed to forget the fireworks.

Sept. 6, 2005
The kitchen is done. Long live the kitchen.

July 1, 2005
Finally, Sofia. Annas went into labor on the way home from the airport with the LeForts, so they all went straight to the hospital and stayed the night until the baby was born. Let the spoiling begin!

April 25, 2005
Pour one out for Shaky. His time came a little early, but hopefully he's in a better place - or at least a better state of mind. Farewell Shaky, we hardly knew ye!

Dec. 5, 2004
Goodbye city life. Erin and I agreed to buy a little house in Melrose, so we'll be leaving Roslindale at the end of February. For the first time in either of our Boston lives, we'll be northsiders.

Sept. 26, 2004
I spent Miriam's birthday last weekend by climbing to the top of Mt. Chocorua, where we enjoyed a celebratory bottle of champaign and this view. Sorry, no photos of the moose.

May 16, 2004
Matt's new photography site is up and running, just in time for his opening day at the South End street market on Harrison Street.

April 27, 2004
Grace and I ran the James Joyce Ramble again this year and we brought along some other folks as well. It was a 55-minute reminder of why I like golf so much. Erin took some pictures.

April 23, 2004
It's about time Bradbury started networking.

Dec. 29, 2003
Nothing says Christmas like seven days in balmy Puerto Aventuras, Mexico. That's where Erin and I kicked back and relaxed with the Callahans. If you're ever in the neighborhood, I recommend our favorite beach and restaurant at Xpu-Ha. The pictures say it all.

Dec. 7, 2003
Erin and I are digging out from The Great December Blizzard of Aught Three, an epic Nor'easter that dumped 25 inches of snow on Boston this weekend. We hunkered down on Saturday, but I took my snowboard down to Blue Hills today, where they opened their runs several weeks early.

Nov. 29, 2003
My dad and I spent Thanksgiving in New York City, toting a 50-foot Charlie Brown balloon down Broadway. Then we all ate a hearty dinner in the Village and saw a Wicked good musical. We took pictures.

Sept. 22, 2003
We are back from our trip to the Berkshires and upstate New York for Chani's wedding. Here are some pics. The wedding went off great, and so did our time in the mountains. We hiked, we paddled, we mini-golfed.... and Erin found us some cool museums and galleries - Hancock Shaker Village, Mass MoCA, and the national horse racing museum.

Aug. 28, 2003
Grace just sent me a picture she snapped the day we took my parents down to WaterFire in Providence. I think we all look pretty good.

July 23, 2003
I've been taking quizzes on the Internet today. First I found the 25 U.S. towns and cities that are most suited to me (thank goodness Boston was included). Then I learned that I'm a little bit social libertarian and a little bit economic collectivist. Yup, me and Gandhi.

July 22, 2003
After a nine-day visit from the Boyers, I have left few tourist destinations unvisited. While my parents were in town last week, we hit Harvard Square, JFK Library, the Boston Harbor tour, Doyle's, Franklin Park Golf Course, Boston Public Library, the Mapparium, The Vineyard, Sandwich, and a quick stop at Mike's Pastry on the way to the airport. And after all that I can only produce two pictures. Sheesh.

July 19, 2003
So Matt got himself a fancy new camera just in time for a swing through eastern Europe. If his gear makes it safely though all those hostels, he should bring back some pretty good pics to match these.

May 26, 2003
After two long flights Erin and I are back from Annas's wedding in Brazil. Thanks to her and Fernando for making it such a great time. It was undoubtedly the best wedding I've ever been to where I didn't end up married.

May 10, 2003
Yesterday, the annual list of most popular baby names was released. And if you're sane, you probably didn't spend half an hour on the SSA Web site looking up the ranking, history and state-by-state breakdown of every imaginable name like me.

May 2, 2003
Thanks to Grace's digital camera and Erin's photo-skills, I now have proof of my much-doubted 10k run last weekend at the James Joyce Ramble. All I can say, is thank goodness for the Harpoon Ale truck.

This is a site I use to work on my programming skills. I am always adding new features, some of which work, some of which don't.

This center column is headed by the most interesting story I've read today, followed by a little commentary from me on what I've been doing lately. I'm working on making it interactive, so that visitors can add any comments they want. In the meantime, if you have anything you want to add, please e-mail me here.
